Disasters

Computers are now used almost everywhere, in every corner of our lives. We depend on them so much, when they go wrong, they can cause us huge problems!

Although computers occasionally go wrong because of something physical that’s broken (part of the computer, or hardware) most of the problems with computers happen in software, the code that makes up the programs and the apps on the machine. Mistakes in programs are called bugs. Poor software can also be hard to use and make it more likely that people make mistakes using it.

Since programmers are humans, they sometimes make mistakes, so you can’t stop bugs from happening. But there are ways to code so it’s less likely you will make a mistake, and it’s always a good idea to test your code before people start using it properly!

To stop a disaster… test your software and look out for bugs
