AARON is the world’s first successful computer artist. It is a computer program linked to a robot arm that paints it’s own paintings with paint on a canvas, just like a human painter. It’s programmer, Harold Cohen, created rules about how to paint that it follows. It then paints whatever it wants.
AARON’s paintings have been shown in art galleries around the world. People also pay lots of money for them. AARON earns more money from it’s art than many human painters!
Is it being creative though? Or is it really Harold Cohen, who came up with the rules it follows, who is really the creative one?
