We are getting better at building ‘intelligent’ machines. What does it mean to be intelligent, though? Do you need to be able to think to be intelligent?
We know a dog is intelligent because of what it can do: sit when told, catch a ball, … but most of all because it can learn to do new things. How can a computer learn for itself, when all it can do is follow the instructions of its program?
